  • Rose Mary Doedtman, 78, of rural Effingham (Green Creek), died on September 11, 2010 at 11:59 a.m. at St. Anthony Memorial Hospital in Effingham.
    She was born on December 31, 1931 in Green Creek to William and Mary (Hilgefort) Doedtman. Rose had worked at the Best Western Motel in Effingham for many years.
    She was a member of St. Mary Help of Christians Church in Green Creek and St. Mary Council of Catholic Women.
    Survivors include 2 brothers, Frank of rural Effingham and Norbert (wife Doris) of rural Effingham, 8 nieces and nephews, 18 great-nieces and great-nephews, and 10 great great-nieces and great great-nephews.
    She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Amelia.
    Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, September 15, at St. Mary Help of Christians Church in Green Creek with burial at St. Mary's Cemetery. Visitation was from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Tuesday at Bauer Funeral Home in Effingham with a 6:30 p.m. parish rosary.
    Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Diabetes Association.
