The seventh Montrose School Reunion was held September 5 at the Dieterich Civic Center. Hostesses were Ruby Harris of Montrose and Pat Wendt and Norma Doedtman of Effingham. Pat also served as Emcee.

The St. Francis CCW Christmas party was held on December 15 at 6:30 PM in the grade school auditorium.

Sister Claritus Hartke will be celebrating her 92nd birthday on December 15. She is the oldest of ten children of Aloysius and Clara Cremer Hartke formerly of Bishop. She has 3 living sisters, Sister Bernice Hartke of St. Louis, Martha Wente of Wheeler, and Catherine Hardiek of Dieterich.
When WEIU TV’s Heartland Highways visited Holy Cross Catholic Church in Wendelin, IL in December of 2007 to do a story about The Advent Evensong, they knew this was a special event. With that in mind, they decided to record the entire Evensong program and turn it into a holiday television special.
All women of St. Francis parish are invited to the annual St. Francis Council of Catholic Women Christmas Party on Monday, December 15 at 6:30 p.m. in the Grade School Gym.
The annual Christmas Party at the Dieterich Civic Center will be on Wednesday, December 10 beginning at 11:30 a.m. with the Dieterich school children entertaining.
The Teutopolis Lions will be having a Christmas light contest and will be rewarding the best outdoor lighting display within the city limits of Teutopolis. Judging will be on Sunday, December 14 starting at 6:00 p.m.
