Letter to the Editor

It is encouraging to read that the County B oard is continuing to consider the plight of the lowly taxpayer. Not so long ago Effingham had only one Supt. of Schools. Since then the student population in the U.S. Has risen 96 percent while the number of administration has gone up 700 percent. In our state these superintendents are further assisted by our local regional supt., and her staff-another multi-million dollar bureaucracy.

Illinois Policy Institute reports Illinois school districts spent one billion dollars on district-level administration in fiscal 2014-more than any other state! If your blood pressure isn't high enough yet consider the millions in tax money these superintendents can take home during the course of their retirement. Justice will be done when citizens demand it.
