The United Way for Spoon River Country will replace the annual Golf Ball Drop fundraiser this year with a raffle fundraiser to help kick-off the fundraising campaign season.

The United Way will be selling 300 raffle tickets with all cash prizes.  First prize will be $500. Second prize will be $250. Third prize will be $100. Tickets are $20 and can be purchased by calling the United Way office at 309-647-1825 or from any United Way board member.

The drawing for the raffle tickets will be held at a Business After Hours Sept. 20 at the V.F.W. in Canton from 5 – 7 p.m. Winners do not need to be present to win.

“We are excited to host a Business After Hours with the V.F.W. this year.  This is a great opportunity for us to kick-off our annual fundraising campaign,” says Ann Lockhart, United Way for Spoon River Country Executive Director.

United Way partner agencies will be present with information about the programs that are funded in part by United Way contributions. Board members and Lockhart will also be available to share information on how to get involved in the United Way through campaign contributions and volunteer opportunities.

The United Way for Spoon River Country currently provides funds to 20 programs administered by 12 local nonprofit agencies. Individuals from all over Fulton County receive help through these programs.
