The Dieterich Village Board Met February 1.

Local business owner Rodney Fish addressed the Board expressing his desire to expand his Advanced Powder Technology, Inc. business in the Zumbahlen Industrial Park.  In order for a future building to be erected he would need more land to maintain proper easements.  The lot directly north of his current property belongs to the Village of Dieterich and contains a retention pond.  Rodney was inquiring if the Village would consider giving him approximately an additional 50 feet of the south portion of the Village owned lot so a future building could be constructed.  The Board agreed to donate up to 50 feet of the lot to Rodney once a land survey is completed to ensure the proper easements will remain surrounding the retention pond.  Rodney will be responsible for all closing costs and legal fees.

Village Engineer Lee Beckman gave his report on the sewer project.  The contractor has completed all of the sewer pipe replacement and the only work remaining will be the ground settling repair work to be completed in the spring.  Overall the project was completed under budget.

The Board accepted a bid proposal from EJ Water for a sanitary sewer lift station preventative maintenance contract at $600 annually.

The Board agreed to the purchase of electrical supplies and materials in order to have power supplied to all the light poles throughout the Village so for future years all of the Christmas wreaths hung throughout the Village will be illuminated.

The Board agreed to send Village Clerk Brittny Gipson to the Central Illinois Municipal Clerks workshop on February 10 in Peoria.

The Board agreed to send Village Water Plant employees Mike Depoister and Todd Dial to the Illinois Rural Water Association workshop that will be held February 16-18 in Effingham.
