Teutopolis Board Met June 3

Teutopolis, Ill. -

The regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Village of Teutopolis was held on June 3 at 7:00 p.m.

The President, Jerry Weber, called the meeting to order and upon roll call the following trustees were present: Greg Hess, Kenneth Esker, Joe Kroeger, Greg Oseland, and David Tegeler. John Mette was not present.

It was moved by Greg Oseland, seconded by Joe Kroeger and carried that the minutes of the last meeting be approved as read.

Tony Esker reported three building permits were issued in the month of May.

Tony Koester and David Probst, representing the fire department, informed the board the siren on the old fire station was no longer being used by the fire department but J.B. Esker agreed to let the siren remain on top of the building if the Village would be responsible for maintenance and repair of the siren. The siren will only blow at noon or if there is a tornado warning. The board agreed to maintain the siren until such time Eskers no longer want it on their property.

Rich Hartke requested the board consider installing street lights along West Water Street from the Junior High to the intersection with Crystal Road. The board agreed to consider this request.

John Stone reviewed the plans and estimate for the parking lot addition with board members but no action was taken.

Shannon Woodard updated the board on the water tower and informed the board the forced main and water main replacement projects should be ready to bid within the next few weeks.

David Tegeler introduced Ordinance No. 788, Appointment Ordinance for fiscal year ending April 30, 2010. A motion was made by Joe Kroeger, seconded by Greg Oseland to pass Ordinance No. 788. By roll call vote - 5 yes, 0 nays, 1 absent, motion carried.

Greg Oseland introduced Ordinance No. 789, An Ordinance regulating parking and repealing Ordinance No. 758. A motion was made by Greg Oseland, seconded by David Tegeler to pass Ordinance No. 789. By roll call vote - 5 yes, 0 nays, 1 absent, motion carried.

Joe Kroeger introduced Ordinance No. 790, An Ordinance regulating parking on US Route 40 and repealing Ordinance No. 730. A motion was made by Kenneth Esker, seconded by Greg Hess to pass Ordinance No. 790. By roll call vote - 5 yes, 0 nays, 1 absent, motion carried.

A motion was made by David Tegeler, seconded by Greg Hess to go into executive session to discuss the appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance or dismissal of specific employees. By roll call vote - 5 yes, 0 nays, 1 absent, motion carried.

Following executive session it was moved by Kenneth Esker, seconded by Greg Hess and carried to adjourn the meeting.
