Beatrice M. Niemerg, 79, of Effingham, died at 12:21 a.m., Saturday, January 21, 2012 at St. Anthony Memorial Hospital in Effingham.
Beatrice was born on June 15, 1932 in Bishop Creek, the daughter of Herman and Cecelia (Voss) Niemerg. She was a retired employee of the Illinois Glove Factory and also had worked at the Abe Lincoln Motel. Beatrice was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, American Legion Auxiliary, and the V.F.W. Auxiliary. Beatrice enjoyed fishing, mushroom hunting, birding, playing cards and putting together puzzles.
Clem J. Sandschafer, 96, of Teutopolis, died at 8:00 p.m., Sunday, January 15, 2012 at St. Anthony Memorial Hospital in Effingham.
Clem was born on February 17, 1915 in Effingham County, the son of John and Catherine (Kroeger) Sandschafer. He married Cecilia G. Grunloh on September 10, 1947 and she preceded him in death in 1989. Clem was a member of the St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Teutopolis, Teutopolis Knights of Columbus Council #2874, Fourth Degree, Holy Name Society and Third Order of St. Francis. Clem and Cecilia were very active with supporting Right to Life.
Mrs. Eunice D. (Stortzum) Lewis, age 75 of Dieterich, IL passed away at 1:21 a.m., Monday, January 16, 2012 at her home. A very aggressive lung cancer attacked her body and took her very quickly.
Eunice was born on April 9, 1936 in Lucas Township, Effingham County, the daughter of Gottlieb and Ida (Schmidt) Stortzum. She married Albert G. Lewis on September 13, 1952 in Dieterich. He preceded her in death on October 12, 2000.
Eleanor Clara (Deters) Fearday, 96, of Sigel, died at 1:40 p.m., Thursday, January 19, 2012 at Heartland Christian Village in Neoga surrounded by her family.
Eleanor was born on November 3, 1915 in Cumberland County, the daughter of Joseph and Cecelia (Will) Deters. She married Wilbur John Fearday on August 3, 1940 at St. Michael the Archangel Church. He preceded her in death on January 23, 2011.
Viola A. Brincka, 95, of Bradley, IL, formerly of Teutopolis, passed away on Sunday morning, January 8, 2012 at Heartland Christian Village in Neoga.
Viola was born on March 18, 1916 in Teutopolis, the daughter of Frank A. and Frances (Vormor) Thoele. She was married to George Brincka and he preceded her in death on January 10, 1984, then later met a special friend Walter Wells, and he also preceded her in death.
Henry R. "Harry" Thoele, 89, of Teutopolis, died at his home in Teutopolis on Friday, January 6, 2012 at 10:35 p.m.
Harry was born on April 16, 1922 in Teutopolis, the son of Henry and Carrie (Vahling) Thoele. He married Lorene M. Mundt on October 14, 1947 and she survives.
Harold H. Bushur, 81, of Effingham, IL, died at 8:18 a.m. Thursday, January 5, at St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital. He died from complications as a result of a fall on November 12, 2011.
Harold was born on October 14, 1930 in Effingham County, the son of John B. and Rosa (Verdeyen) Bushur. He married Bertha Niebrugge on May 1, 1954, in Effingham County, and she survives.
Mary R. "Rosie" Brumleve, 85, of Teutopolis, died at 7:27 p.m. on Friday, January 6, 2012 at Aspen Creek of Effingham.
Rosie was born on October 30, 1926 in Clay County, the daughter of Charles and Ethel (Evans) Brown. She married Clarence J. "Tarter" Brumleve on July 2, 1947 and he preceded her in death in 2004.
Ruth Ann Westjohn, 80, of Montrose died at 8:15 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 25, 2011, at her home.
Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Rose Catholic Church, Montrose, with burial in St. Rose Cemetery, Montrose. Sharon Darlene Repking, the daughter of Frank C. Repking of Bishop and Ida L. Lustig of Island Grove, was born on April 16, 1942 in Gary, Indiana. She passed away peacefully at Ingall's Memorial Hospital in Harvey, Illinois on December 26, 2011.
Sharon majored in Theater Arts at Indiana University. The first Master of Art's degree ever issued by the Indiana University's Theater department was presented to Sharon in 1965. That same year she was a finalist in the Miss Indiana University Pageant.
The Lord came and put His arms around Edna F. Fulle, 89, of Teutopolis, IL, and brought her home at 9:40 a.m. Monday, December 12, 2011.
Edna was born on July 12, 1922 in Clinton, IL, the daughter of William and Anna (Einhorn) Gabel. She married Harold G. Fulle on December 29, 1943, in Westmont, IL. He preceded her in death on March 20, 1975.
Edna was a member and a past sacristan at St. Francis of Assisi Church, Teutopolis. She had been employed at Weber Implement in Teutopolis, Teutopolis Press, and Effingham Daily News.
Louis C. Meyer, 84, of Teutopolis, went to be with his Lord on Tuesday morning, December 6, 2011 at St. Anthony Memorial Hospital in Effingham, surrounded by his loving family.
Louis was born in Effingham, the son of John Jr. and Theresa (Waldhoff) Meyer. He joined the U.S. Naval Service in 1945 and was enlisted during WWII. Louis was discharged in 1946 and later married Anna Bierman on November 19, 1949 at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Bishop Creek and she survives.
Olivia E. Will, 84, of Teutopolis, died at 8:55 a.m., Thursday, December 1, 2011 at Heartland Christian Village in Neoga.
Olivia was born on April 2, 1927 in Bishop Creek, the daughter of Leo and Clara (Niemerg) Westendorf. She married Peter F. "Pete" Will on September 17, 1949 and he preceded her in death in 1994.
John A. Jansen, 79, of Effingham, passed away peacefully at home at 12:05 p.m. Friday, November 25, 2011.

Freda McClain, age 98, of Montrose, IL passed away at 12:17 a.m. on November 25, 2011 at the Cumberland Rehab and Health Care in Greenup, IL.
Freda was born on July 9, 1913 in Hindsboro, IL, the daughter of Hinkley and Lydia Starwalt. She married Harold McClain in St. Charles, MO on June 22, 1940 and he preceded her in death on October 7, 1998.
Grace Mitchell Ruffner, 92, of Effingham, formerly of Peoria, passed away on Wednesday morning, November 2, 2011 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana.
Grace was born on December 23, 1918 the daughter of Archer D. and Eva (Stear) Burdette in Peoria. She married Clare A. Ruffner and he preceded her in death.
Grace was a member of Christ Church in Effingham. She came to Effingham in 1950 and raised her three children as a waitress working at the High Boy restaurant, until she met and married Clare Ruffner.
Marie P. Dasenbrock, 86, of Effingham, died at 2:50 a.m., Thursday, November 3, 2011 at St. John's Hospital in Springfield, IL.
Marie was born on December 4, 1924 in Effingham, the daughter of Clem and Clara (Fuesting) Goldstein. She married Harold B. Dasenbrock on June 25, 1947. She was a member of the St. Anthony Catholic Church and the St. Anthony Council of Catholic Women.
Sister Marie Grunloh, OSF (1920 - 2011) died at Our Lady of Angels Retirement Home, Joliet, Illinois on October 18, 2011.
Born in Green Creek, Illinois, she was one of six children born to John and Elizabeth (Schumacher) Grunloh. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Andrew, Rev. Donatus, OFM and Rev. Melvin, OFM; and her sister, Cecilia Sandschafer. Her sister, Agnes Brummer, resides in Dieterich, Illinois. She is also survived by her brothers-in-law, Clem Sandschafer and Clete Brummer; sister-in-law Dolores Grunloh; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Earl P. Hornbeck, 92, of Raytown, MO, passed away on October 9, 2011 at his home. He was born in Kansas City, MO on March 17, 1919, to Richard Earl and Mary Teresa (McAuliffe) Hornbeck.
Earl was a WWII Veteran, who proudly served his country. He was a loving husband to his wife of 66 years, Lucy (Habing) Hornbeck, formerly of Teutopolis, and a much-loved father and grandfather.
Norma H. Gardewine, 93, of Teutopolis, went to be with her Lord on Monday, October 10, 2011 at St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham.
Norma was born on March 30, 1918 in Effingham County (Green Creek), the daughter of Henry and Rose (Swingler) Zumbahlen. She married Lester Gardewine on June 25, 1940 and he preceded her in death on October 14, 2008.
Norma was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Church in Teutopolis and the St. Francis Ladies Sodality. She enjoyed working at the T-Town Locker, doing whatever job was necessary, throughout the day and later working as a Seamstress at Snores Garment Factory in Teutopolis.
