Benjamin A. “Benny” Brown, 85, of Pontiac, died at 1:43 p.m. Friday, Aug. 3, 2018, at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center, Bloomington.
His funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Pontiac, with Rev. Wayne Shelksohn officiating. Burial will be in Chenoa Cemetery, Chenoa.
Friends may call from 4 to 6 p.m. today at the church in Pontiac and for one hour prior to the funeral at the church Wednesday.

Born Oct. 9, 1932, in Arcola, Benny was a son of Leland and Della (Hardin) Brown. He married MaryAnn Lloyd on Sept. 19, 1955, in Pontiac. She preceded him in death on April 19, 1977. He later married Marian Gentes Asper on July 3, 1990, at Funks Grove. She survives in Pontiac.
Also surviving are two daughters, Terri (James) Morgan and Tracy (Larry) Leach, both of Pontiac; one son, Allen (Sonia Robel) Brown of Pontiac; two grandchildren; Lindsey Blunier and Andrew Leach; one great-grandson, Reed Blunier.
Benny was preceded in death by two daughters, Carol Ann Brown and Mary Louise Brown; two brothers, Kendall and Victor Brown; and two sisters, Imogene Beckman and Geraldine Petropoul.
Educated in Pontiac schools, Benny was a rural mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service in Pontiac. He served our country in the U.S. Air Force from 1950-1953, during the Korean War. Benny was also a member of the Grace Episcopal Church, the former Pontiac Lions Club and Moose Lodge. He also served on the Pontiac Township High School Board of Education.
