Catherine Flood Passed Away

Catherine L. Flood, 83, of rural Teutopolis, passed away at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 22, 2010 at her home.
She was born on December 2, 1926 in Teutopolis to Fred and Catherine (Doedtman) Waldhoff. She married Robert J. Flood on May 22, 1954 and he preceded her in death on February 29, 2008.
Catherine was a homemaker, and a member of St. Isidore Parish in Bishop Creek and St. Isidore Council of Catholic Women.
Survivors include her 3 sons, David (wife Joyce), Paul (wife Tonya) and Glen (wife Amber) all of Dieterich; 7 daughters, Mary (Vincent) Klingler of Mason, Evelyn (John) Schabbing of Teutopolis, Linda (Paul) Ruesken of Shumway, Dianne (Steve) Schabbing of Teutopolis, Eileen (Joseph) Vahling of Lillyville, Brenda (Dennis) Vahling of Stewardson, and Karen (Gary) Ludwig of Sigel; 40 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert; 6 brothers, Joe (Josephine) Waldhoff, Tony (Florence) Waldhoff, Frank (Emma) Waldhoff, Lawrence (Helen) Waldhoff, Fritz (Rosie) Waldhoff, and an infant brother, Vitus; and 5 sisters, Therese (John) Meyer, Ann (Frank) Hemmen, Marie (Frank) Lohman, Millie (Roman) Mette, and Pauline (Albert) Buening.
Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, April 26, at St. Isidore Parish in Bishop Creek with burial at the church cemetery. Visitation was from 4:00-8:00 p.m. on Sunday at the church in Bishop Creek with a 6:30 p.m. parish wake service.
Bauer Funeral Home in Effingham assisted the family with arrangements. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Lincolnland or donor's choice.
