Catherine Thoele Passed Away

Catherine B. Thoele, 76, of Teutopolis, went to join her Heavenly Father on Sunday, April 11, 2010 at St. John's Hospital in Springfield, IL.
Catherine was born on March 29, 1934 at Green Creek, Effingham, County, the daughter of John H. and Theresa Mary (Waldhoff) Meyer. She married Harold V. Thoele on September 13, 1952 at St. Mary Help of Christian's Church in Green Creek, and he survives. Also surviving are 3 sons, Steve (wife Ellen) Thoele of Dieterich, Kevin Thoele and fiance Sandy Ruholl of Effingham, and Randy (wife Amy) Thoele of Effingham; 4 daughters, Debbie (husband Richard) Aumiller of Marion, Jerri Lynn (husband Doug) Boles of Indianapolis, IN., Judy (husband Kip) Johnson of Effingham and Beth Huston of Plano, TX; 22 grandchildren, Tammy (Nathan) Wente, Kelly (Ted) Helmink, Eric Thoele, Riley (Sommer) Aumiller, Robbie and Allison Aumiller, Matthew Ward, Michael (Beth) Ward, Melissa Ward and special friend John, Sasha (Derek) Hudson, Isaac and Grant Johnson, Lauren, Ryan, and Jon Huston, Derek, Tyler, Katie, Alex, Mattie, Ellie, and Ethan Thoele; 12 great-grandchildren; 5 brothers, Louis (Annie) Meyer of Teutopolis, Gene (Jeanie) Meyer of Effingham, Fred (Marilyn) Meyer of Teutopolis, Jim Meyer of Effingham and Gerald Meyer and friend Ruth of Effingham; 3 Sisters, Theresa Mae (Harold) Meinhart of Dieterich, Ann (Virgil) Kingery of Effingham, and Lucille (Larry) Buhnerkempe of Teutopolis. She was preceded in death by her parents and 2 brothers, Lawrence and John.
Catherine was a homemaker. She enjoyed playing the piano, listening to bluegrass music and working in her flower garden. She also liked playing cards and dominoes and her time spent with family, especially, the last 10 years in Florida. Most of all she loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and her great-grandchildren. Catherine was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Church in Teutopolis, St. Ann's Sodality, CD of A and the Wabash Camping Club.
A funeral Mass was held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, April 16 at St. Francis of Assisi Church in Teutopolis. Visitation was from 4:00-8:00 p.m. with a combined CCW and CD of A Rosary at 4:30 p.m. and a Parish Wake service at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday evening at St. Francis Church. Interment was in St. Francis Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Effingham County Right to Life or to Catholic Charities.
