Barbara H. "Barbie" Donsbach, 82, of Bishop Creek entered into eternal life at 6:15 p.m. on Monday, February 15, 2010, in her home.
Barbie was born on December 20, 1927, in Teutopolis, the daughter of Joseph and Mary Katherine (Nosbisch) Zerrusen. She married Louis Donsbach on May 7, 1949, in Teutopolis and he died on January 20, 2003.
She was a dairy farmer with her husband and a member of St. Isidore Parish, Dieterich, where she was very active in her parish community as a religion teacher, member of the parish C.C.W., and former choir member. She was also a charter member of the Teutopolis C.D. of A. and a member of the Third Order of St. Francis.
Survivors include one son, Ron (wife Irene) Donsbach of Bishop Creek; one daughter, Linda (husband, Raymond) Willenborg of Teutopolis; grandchildren, Rachel (Greg) Collins, Leslie (Matt) Jansen, Rebekah (Robby) Gaffin, Beth (Kurtis) Klecker, Benjamin (Andrea) Donsbach, Paul (Beth) Willenborg, Jacob (Christi) Donsbach, Adam (Nora) Donsbach, and Brenda (Louis) Salyers; great-grandchildren, Cole, Kateyln, and Lilly Jansen, Aubrey and Liam Collins, Elaina Gaffin, Caden and Gavin Klecker, Carson Donsbach, Jackson Willenborg, Rylan Donsbach, and Levi Salyers; sister, Marguerite Schumacher; and sister-in-law, Lorraine Zerrusen.
Barbie enjoyed the outdoors and loved working side by side with her husband on the farm. She loved being with family and always, eagerly awaited the birth of new grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis; great-granddaughter, Eva Gaffin; brothers, Sylvester, Edwin, Clarence, and James Zerrusen; and sister, Mariann Schumacher.
A funeral mass was held at 10:30 a.m., on Friday, February 19 at St. Aloysius Church (Bishop Creek), Dieterich. Visitation was from 4:00-8:00 p.m., Thursday evening with a 5:00 p.m. combined C.C.W. and C.D. of A. rosary and a 7:00 p.m. parish wake service, all at the church. Burial was held in the church cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Franciscan Missionary Union or Donor's Choice.
