Lucille J. Kaufman, 86, of Effingham passed away at 11:44 on Friday, August 28, 2009 at St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham surrounded by her family and close friend, Emmie.
Lucille was born on May 4, 1923 to August and Margaret (Einhorn) Brumleve. She married Clifford A. Kaufman on September 25, 1948 and he preceded her in death on August 23, 2009.
Lucille had worked at the Ramada Inn for 25 years. She belonged to St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Effingham and St. Anthony Council of Catholic Women. Lucille enjoyed baking, embroidering, and sitting in her swing. She really loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Survivors include her 3 sons, Larry of Effingham, Ken (Pam) of Shumway, and Ron (Gina) of Teutopolis; 3 daughters, Shirley (Stan) Richardson of Effingham, Connie (Dan) Wehrle of Shumway, and Karen (Terry) Heathcoat of Indianapolis, IN; 1 brother, Art (Rosie) Brumleve of Teutopolis; 10 grandchildren; 4 step grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and 7 step great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clifford; and 1 sister, Stella Mette.
Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 1, 2009 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Effingham with burial at St. Anthony Cemetery. Visitation was from 4:00-8:00 p.m. on Monday at Bauer Funeral Home in Effingham with a 6:00 p.m. C.C.W. rosary.
Memorials may be made to the donor's choice.
