Eileen Overbeck, 84, of Effingham, passed away at 10:54 p.m. on Monday, February 1, 2010 at Lutheran Care Center in Altamont.
She was born on April 17, 1925 in Shelby County to Garnet M. and Bertha D. (Miller) Andes. She married Robert B. "Bob" Overbeck on June 23, 1945 and he preceded her in death in 1999.
Eileen was a homemaker and a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Effingham, Sacred Heart Council of Catholic Women, Effingham Catholic Daughters of the Americas Court #720, Royal Neighbors of America and Navy Mothers.
Survivors include her 6 sons, Bob (wife Ann) of Effingham, Dan (wife Donna) of Effingham, Jim (wife Deb) of Shelbyville, Ron (wife Cindy) of Effingham, Bill (wife Kathy) of Effingham, and Donnie of Munford, Tennessee; 1 daughter, Mary F. (husband Don) Klein of Maryville; 1 brother, Gary (wife Susie) Andes of Effingham; 26 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and 1 infant son, Michael.
Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, February 5 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Effingham with burial at St. Anthony Cemetery in Effingham. Visitation was from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Thursday at Bauer Funeral Home in Effingham. There was a combined C.D. of A and C.C.W. rosary at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday evening at the funeral home.
