On July 11, 2009, we experienced the total loss of a shop, machine and hay metal shed to fire. Within five minutes, Teutopolis, Montrose and Dieterich fire trucks were on the site. It was unique watching each man and woman doing exactly what they were trained to do. With the help of family, friends, and neighbors the fire was contained to the one building. No animals or people were injured; an ambulance stood by for any emergency.
We were blessed with very little wind. Food and drinks appeared from many sources.
We want to thank God for no injuries; the firefighters; and all who helped in any way. Listing names would be an endless task.
