Another no-hitter for Krause-Fox tandem in area softball from Monday. Knights top Titans.

    They did it again. Regan Krause and Amanda Fox combined to toss a no-hitter as Pontiac shut out Streator 5-0 in a nonconference softball game Monday.
    Krause struck out 13 Bulldogs in five innings in the circle. She did not allow a walk. Amanda Fox also did not give up a walk and fanned five in her two innings of relief.
    The Indians lost the perfect game the second batter into the bottom of the first inning. Krause and Fox than combined to retire the final 20 Streator batters.
    Pontiac got its first run in the top of the third inning. It was done without the benefit of a base hit. Maddi Stark walked to open the inning but was forced out two batters later on Madisyn Webster’s grounder to short.
    Webster stole second and then scored when Fox reached on an error for the 1-0 lead.
    A four-run sixth inning shut the door on the Bulldogs. Fox singled with one out to get things going for the Indians. Addison Masching followed with a walk and Emma Jacobs singled to drive in Fox and put Masching on third. Jacobs took second on the throw.
    Alyssa Fox lifted a fly ball to drive in Masching on the sacrifice. Sydney Barnett was hit by a pitch to put runners on the corners. She then stole second. Krause followed the steal with a single to drive in Jacobs and Barnett to make it 5-0.
    Pontiac’s offense was not crisp as the Tribe (19-7) managed just three hits. Krause had a single and two runs batted in and Jacobs had a hit and RBI. Amanda Fox also singled. Alyssa Fox also had a run batted in.
Fieldcrest 3, EPG 1
    EUREKA — Fieldcrest advanced to the semifinal round of the Class 2A El Paso-Gridley Regional with a 3-1 win over El Paso-Gridley Monday.
    Emma Lorton struck out seven for the Knights. Cheyenne Carr took the loss for EPG, striking out five in the process.
    Lexi Jochums paced the Fieldcrest offense with three hits. Alaina Tjaden had a triple, single and run batted in while Alivia Tjaden had a hit and RBI. Jacie Sullivan also drove in a run for the Knights.
    Fieldcrest will take on top-seed Olympia today in the semifinal round. The winner will play for the championship on Saturday.
    In other regional play on Monday, in Class 1A, Gardner-South Wilmington thrashed Tri-Point 17-1 in the Dwight Regional. GSW will take on host Dwight today in the semifinal round.
