Pontiac had the top two individuals as Ali Schrock and Dani Grace Schrock led the field at the Pontiac Invitational girls’ golf tournament at the Elks Club Monday afternoon.
Geneva won the tourney with a 346, easily outdistancing the eight-team field. Pontiac was second at 395 while Prairie Central came in third with a 416. El Paso-Gridley finished fourth at 423 and was followed by Seneca (437), Dwight (440), Watseka (466) and Fieldcrest (506).
Ali Schrock shot 75 and Dani Grace Schrock carded a 76 for the Indians. Taylor Parsons came in at 119 and Aliya Leonard completed the scoring with a 125. Macey rice (133), Rylee Zimmerman (134) and Claire Nyi (146) also played.
Hannah Austman led Prairie Central with a 98. Katelind Winterland shot 102, Alycia Lewis-Deaton had a 106 and Alyssa Bachtold shot 110. Ellaina Stadel (121) and Lyndie Shumaker (135) also played.
Makenna Parkhouse was fifth among all players with an 84 to lead El Paso-Gridley. Emma Baker shot 107, Skyeler Woods finished with a 108 and Faith Seal and Sami Harlan each recorded a 124. Olivia Tipler (147) also played.
Isabelle Schultz was low scorer for Dwight with a 104. Chloe Butterbrodt had a 108 and was followed by Kelly Deterding at 113 and Kat Harms at 115. Gabby Mascolo (127) and Miranda Holte (129) also competed.
Alivia Tjaden had a 114 in leading Fieldcrest. Elena Kearfott came in at 124, Kylie Gaspardo shot 133 and Faith Theesfield carded a 135. Savannah Fortner (138) and Emily Medley (144) also played.
FAIRBURY — Josh Kilcullen was medalist and Carter Nowak was up to par in leading Prairie Central to a 154-175 boys’ golf win over Watseka at Indians Creek Golf Course Monday.
Kilcullen carded a one-under 35 to pace the Hawks and Nowak finished at even-par 36. Payton Dunahee came in at 41 and Riley Vaughan shot 42 to complete the scoring. Trey Bazzell had a 44.
Lukas Ball led Watseka with a 39.
Four strokes separated Pontiac’s four scorers but the Indians did not have enough to score lower than Normal West and Olympia in a boys’ triangular match at Wolf Creek Golf Course.
Normal West won with a 171.Olympia was next at 175 and PTHS came in at 179. Olympia’s Leighton Rutherford was medalist at 39. Jacob Farmer led West with a 40.
Garrett Brunner led the Tribe with a 43 and Griffin Nyi shot 44. Griffin Brunner carded a 45 and Rocco Sartoris shot 47 to complete the scoring. Hunter Trainor (54) and Ethan Finnegan (55) also played.
DWIGHT — Andrew Curl was four shots better than teammate Mason Tjelle and Woodland’s Tyler Jenkins in leading the field in a boys’ golf triangular match at Dwight Country Club Monday.
Curl fired a 39 to pace the Trojans to a one-stroke win over St. Anne. DTHS came in at 187 to the Cardinals’ 188. Woodland finished at 206.
Tjelle shot 43 with Nathan Wozniak coming in at 52 and Anthony Dinelli completing the DTHS scoring at 53. Sevin Vargas shot 54 and Brody Hoegger had a 58.
Brooks Schoon led St. Anne with a 46.
Dwight won the JV match with Woodland 223-260. Nolan Perkins was medalist for Dwight with a 52.
El Paso-Gridley Triangular
EL PASO — AJ Bond was overall medalist in leading El Paso-Gridley but Tri-Valley had all four scorers shoot 43 to post a win over the Titans and LeRoy in the Heart of Illinois Conference boys’ golf triangular at El Paso Golf Course.
Bond shot a 41 for the Titans, who finished at 177. Tri-Valley finished at 172 and LeRoy came in at 198.
Luke Ihlenfeldt and Harrison Brooks each had a 45 and Caleb Lavender shot 46 for EPG. Tyler Young carded a 52 and Jacob Castleman came in at 55.
Matthew Barker, JoshStewart, Camdyn Zook and Drew Rudinski each shot 43 for the Vikings. Ty Egan had a 45 for the Panthers.
