Ridgeview and FCW play season-finale
Ridgeview and Flanagan-Cornell-Woodland were just playing out the schedule as the Mustangs collected a 56-8 victory over the Falcons in a Heart of Illinois Conference Small Division battle.
Ridgeview put up 29 points in the first quarter to take control early. Josh Hardman got the Mustangs on the board with an 8-yard touchdown run 82 seconds into the game. Tate Walcott scored on a 28-yard dash with 5:34 left in the opening lap and Hardman added his second TD 23 seconds later on an 11-yard shot.
Walcott scored the for the second time, this time from 20 yards, as time ran out on the period.
Ryan Benton had an 11-yard touchdown and Walcott scored for the third time when he raced 62 yards with 27 seconds left in the half. Grant VanVickle scored for the Mustangs in the third period, and RHS added a TD in the final frame.
FCW avoided the shut out when Clayton Sibert Christian Harms for a 30-yard touchdown pass play. Triston Watson added the two-point conversion.
Ridgeview (4-5) finished with 419 yards of offense, all coming on the ground. Walcott had 150 to lead the charge. Benton added 84 and VanVickle had 55.
Sibert rushed for 68 yards and threw for 71 for the Falcons (0-9). Watson had 21 yards and Jackson Mathe added 3. Christian Harms had 69 yards receiving.
