Lady Shoes Defeated by Breese Mater Dei

The Teutopolis Lady Shoes basketball team played against Breese Mater Dei on January 21 during the Highland Tournament. The final score was 44-56, with Breese Mater Dei winning by 11 points. Teutopolis top scorer, Koester, scored 15 points (5 field goals and 5 of her 6 free throws). B. Niebrugge was close behind, scoring 11 points (3 field goals and 5 of her 8 free throws). Wendt scored 8 points (4 field goals), followed by Windell and M. Kroeger (Windell scored 2 field goals; Kroeger scored 1 field goal and 2 of her 4 free throws). Next was Sa. Kroeger, who scored 2 points (1 field goal).

Opposing team Breese Mater Dei's top scorer was Rallers, who scored 18 points (7 field goals and 4 of her 9 free throws). Shulte was next, scoring 17 points (7 field goals and 3 of her 4 free throws). Boeckmann scored 12 points (4 field goals and 4 of her 6 free throws). Becker scored 5 points (1 field goal and 1 3-pointer). Haolsman and Klewke each scored 2 points (1 field goal each).

The Teutopolis Lady Shoes basketball lost their undefeated record this season.

Lady Shoes Place 3rd in Highland Tournament

On January 23, the Lady Shoes defeated Althoff with a score of 69-58 for 3rd place in the Highland Tournament. Teutopolis scorers were: Jessie Wendt 19, Holly Koester 15, Becky Niebrugge 15, Allison Windell 11, and Gabrielle Deters 9.

The Lady Shoes were defeated by Breese Mater Dei on January 21 with a score of 44-56. Breese Mater Dei went on to defeat Nashville with a score of 34-32 in the Championship game.

On January 19, the Lady Shoes defeated Belleville West with a score of 61-44. Teutopolis scorers were: Jessie Wendt 21, Becky Niebrugge 14, Holly Koester 12, Allison Windell 5, Sara Kroeger 5, and Megan Kroeger 4.

On January 16, the Lady Shoes defeated Nokomis with a score of 67-21. Teutopolis scorers were: Jessie Wendt 18, Holly Koester 15, Allison Windell 10, Megan Kroeger, Sara Kroeger, Becky Niebrugge, Brianna Probst, Gabrielle Deters, and Morgan Drees scored 4 points each.

The Lady Shoes record now stands at 19-1.

Dieterich High School Boys Basketball

The Dieterich High School Boys defeated St. Elmo with a score of 70-42. Sam Thoele led the team with 21 points, Blake Kuhl followed behind with 12 points, Tony Probst received 11 points and Cody Hinterscher received 10 points. Cory Niemerg received 7 points, Taran Bohnhoff received 5, and Jon Hall and Jeremy Ohnesorge both received 2 points each.

Dieterich also defeated South Central with a score of 65-38. Blake Kuhl led the team with 18 points, Sam Thoele followed behind with 15 points. Tony Probst received 12 points, while Cody Hinterscher and Taran Bohnhoff both received 8 points and Cory Niemerg and Jeremy Ohnesorge both received 2 points each.

Dieterich High School Boys Defeat Altamont

Dieterich defeated Altamont 59-45 on Saturday, January 23 in Boys High School Basketball. Cody Hinterscher led the team with 14 points, Tony Probst had 13 points, Blake Kuhl made 12 points, Sam Thoele made 10 points, Jeremy Ohnesorge made 8 points, and Cory Niemerg had 2 points. This left them with a total of 59 points. The final score of the game was 59 to 45.

Wooden Shoes Basketball

The Teutopolis Wooden Shoes defeated Beecher City on January 15, with a score of 80-45. Teutopolis scorers were Nick Schumacher 17, Derek Thompson 16, Jeremy Niebrugge 12, Jordan Michaels 9, Bo Blievernicht 7, Brock Sandschafer 5, Luke Bushur 4, Blake Thoele 4, Trey Braun, Brett Deters, and Mark Niebrugge 2 points each.

The Wooden Shoes defeated Altamont on January 22 with a score of 66-36. Teutopolis scorers were Nick Schumacher 28, Jeremy Niebrugge 6, Brock Sandschafer 6, Trey Braun 5, Jordan Michaels 4, Derek Thompson 4, Luke Bushur 4, Mark Niebrugge 3, Marshall Schultz 2, Blake Thoele 2, and Brett Deters 2.

On January 23, Teutopolis lost to Danville in double overtime with a close score of 80-79. Teutopolis scorers were Nick Schumacher 20, Jordan Michaels 16, Derek Thompson 14, Jeremy Niebrugge 12, Trey Braun 6, Brock Sandschafer 6, Mark Niebrugge 3, and Bo Blievernicht 2.

The Wooden Shoes record now stands at 15-3.

JV defeated Danville with a score of 71-61. They also defeated Altamont with a score of 74-38. JV is now 11-0 on the season.
