Thursday, March 18 was the start of the THS spring baseball season. T-Town defeated the Salem Wildcats 8-0.
Coach Fleener was often at his bench in the first game of the Wooden Shoes' baseball season. The final box score was comprised of 18 players, 3 of these being pitchers.
Dillon Hardiek's pitching didn't allow a hit in two innings. He successfully struck out four and walked one. Derek Repking and Bo Blievernicht completed the shutout.
T-Town had nine nits; Blievernicht and Hardiek each provided two. Ryan Pruemer and Kyle Zerrusen made three hits apiece. Blievernicht and Repking both doubled.
Salem hit four singles and left nine runners on base. The Apollo Conference falls to 0-1. Teutopolis will be playing St. Elmo at home on Monday.
The Wooden Shoe Baseball team is looking forward to another great season in 2010!
