Teutopolis Defeats Dieterich While "Packing it Pink"
There was a full house packing the Teutopolis gym pink on Tuesday, January 12, for the Teutopolis - Dieterich basketball game. The money raised from the sale of the pink t-shirts in Teutopolis was donated to the Crossroads Cancer Center and the St. Anthony Hope and Healing Campaign.
The Teutopolis High School Boy's Basketball team defeated Dieterich with a score of 51-40. However, at the end of the third quarter, the score was somewhat closer with Teutopolis at 34 and Dieterich at 32.
The individual scorers for Teutopolis were: Mark Niebrugge with 11 points. Jeremy Niebrugge and Derek Thompson both scored 10 points each. Brock Sandschafer received 7 points, Nick Schumacher 6, Blake Thoele 4, Luke Bushur 2 and Jordan Michaels 1.
The individual scorers for Dieterich were: Kuhl with 13 points, Bohnhoff 8, Hinterscher 7, and Thoele, Probst and Niemerg all received 4 points each.
Undefeated Lady Shoes Defeat Altamont

The Teutopolis High School Lady Shoes basketball team played against Altamont on Thursday, January 14, defeating them with a score of 57-34. Wendt scored the most points with a total of 20 (10 field goals), followed by B. Niebrugge, who scored a total of 12 points (4 field goals, 1 3-pointer, and 1 free throw). The third top-scorer was H. Koester, scoring 9 points (3 field goals and 1 3-pointer). Next was Windell, scoring a total of 8 points (4 field goals), followed by Sa. Kroeger and Probst, each scoring 4 points. (Kroeger scored 1 field goal and made 2 of her attempted 4 free throws, and Probst scored 2 field goals.) The Lady Shoes are undefeated this basketball season.
From Altamont, top scorer was Zavoral, scoring 16 points for her team (4 field goals, 2 3-pointers, and 2 of her 3 attempted free throws). Behind her was Fulk, scoring 6 points (3 field goals), followed by Childerson and Phillips, each scoring 4 points (2 field goals each). They were followed by Ziegler and Spilker, each scoring 2 points (1 field goal each).
Lady Shoes Basketball
The Teutopolis High School Lady Shoes basketball team defeated Brownstown with a score of 72-24. Wendt led the Teutopolis team with a score of 16 points, Windell and B. Niebrugge followed behind with 13 points each. Koester received 10 points, Deters received 7, Sh. Kroeger and Sa. Kroeger both received 4 points each, Drees received 3, and M. Kroeger received 2 points.
